Emily challenged herself to run the whole half marathon for the first time ever, in memory of her late grandad who sadly passed away as a result of dementia. In Emily’s words, he was "the most loveliest of people, Roger Martin".

A half marathon is a fantastic achievement in itself, but Emily also coped with running after having undergone bilateral foot surgery in September 2022, where both metatarsal bones were broken, and now has pins and staples in both big toes. She also powered through some extremely hot and wet weather on the day.
