Derek Bell becomes Patron for Dementia Support

Dementia Support is very pleased to announce that sporting legend, Derek Bell MBE, has become a Patron for the charity.

Derek Bell, is the five times Le Mans winner, three times Daytona 24 winner and the two times World Sports Car champion. He is regarded as one of the greatest sports car and endurance racing drivers of his era. Splitting his time between homes in the United Kingdom and the United States, Derek can be seen at the world’s major automotive and motor sport events. He is the global Bentley Motors brand ambassador, an accomplished speaker and an experienced television and radio motorsport commentator.

Although he regularly travels across the globe, Derek still finds time for home and supporting local charities and organisations, such as being President of the Pagham Pram Race. Representatives from Dementia Support met Derek at the Pagham Pram Race cheque presentation evening to receive a grant of £500.

Derek has personal family experience of dementia – his much loved sister has recently been diagnosed, and after attending a Dementia Support event in July 2016 he offered his support. Derek visited the Dementia Support Hub and was impressed by the plans to provide complete dementia services under one roof for the local community.

Dementia Support looks forward to the partnership with Derek and working together to raise awareness about dementia and the Hub services in Tangmere.
